About Us

We understand that visiting a new church for the first time can feel intimidating. With so many different styles, cultures, and approaches to Sunday worship, it can be hard to know what to expect when you walk through the doors.

Our desire is to make your first visit as comfortable as possible. Below are answers to some of the most common questions about what you can expect during a Sunday service at Journey Church and the biblical convictions that shape the way we worship.

What Will Worship Be Like?

We don’t believe worship is a preformance- it is the joyful response of God’s people to the God who has saved them. That’s why we keep things simple. No flashing lights, no fog machines, and no distractions. Our aim is to create a reverent atmosphere where Christ is the focus and believers can worship the God who has redeemed them from sin and death.

Warm Welcome:

From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome. Feel free to grab a cup of coffee, enjoy a doughnut (or two!), and find a seat for yourself and your family. We want you to feel at home as we prepare our hearts to worship the Lord together.

Liturgy:

Every Sunday morning, we begin by opening God’s Word and proclaiming it together as one body. We believe that true worship begins with God speaking to His people through Scripture. As His truth fills our hearts and minds, we respond together in joyful worship, praise, and obedience to the One who is worthy of it all.

Singing:

At Journey Church, our worship is centered on exalting Christ through songs that are rich in biblical truth. We sing a blend of modern worship songs that proclaim the greatness of our King, while also cherishing the timeless hymns that have shaped the worship of the church for generations. Whether you sing loudly or quietly, stand or sit, don’t feel pressured to worship in a certain way. Our desire is that every heart would worship God sincerely, giving Him the honor and praise He alone deserves.

Communion

On the third Sunday of every month, we celebrate the sacrament of Communion as we remember the body and blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Together, we proclaim His death, rejoice in His grace, and look forward to the day He returns.

If you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and have been redeemed by His blood, we warmly invite you to join us in partaking of the bread and the cup as an act of worship and remembrance.

Preaching

The preaching of God’s Word is the centerpiece of every Sunday service. Each week, you’ll hear an expository sermon that carefully explains the meaning of a passage by examining its historical and literary context and what God intended to communicate through the biblical author. We then apply those timeless truths to our lives, equipping believers to grow in faith and follow Christ more faithfully.

What Should I Wear?

At Journey Church, you’ll find a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We encourage you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, while dressing in a way that reflects the reverence of gathering to worship God. Some people come dressed in slacks and a button-down, while others wear jeans, shorts, and a T-shirt. Whatever you’re wearing, you’ll be welcomed with open arms and treated like family. Our focus isn’t on what you’re wearing—it’s on worshiping Christ together.

What About My Kids?

Our children begin the worship service alongside their families, joining the congregation in singing praises to our God and Savior. We love having children worship with the church before they transition to age-appropriate classes. After our time of worship concludes with prayer, families are invited to walk their children to our Sunday School classrooms, where they will be checked in by our volunteers. There, your children will be cared for in a safe environment and taught God’s Word through age-appropriate, Scripture-centered lessons. Children ages 6 months–4 years are welcomed into our nursery, while children ages 5–10 years attend our Sunday School classes.

Where Should I Park?

There are plenty of free parking spots in our church lot that are conveniently located near the entrance of the church.

Feel free to snag any open spot you see!
